Chi sono, di cosa mi occupo:
Hi.
I am graduated in Library Science from the University of Malta (DLIS) and I am in my final year of studies in Library Science at Charles Sturt University, Australia (BAppSci.LIS).
I worked in a private secondary school between 2000-2006 as a full-time librarian. I was rewarded the Jean Lowrie Leadership & Development Award in 2004, from IASL for the Information Literacy Program which I developed. I am also a Records Management master, AIIM.
At present, I work in a government corporation as Information & Research Executive.

I am the MaLIA Secretary (Malta Library & Information Association - www.malia-malta.org), ENSIL member (European Network Schools Information Literacy), and during the years 2000-2006 I have been the president of MSLA (Malta School Library Association).

My Interests: Information Literacy, ICT, Web2.0, Digitization, Social Networking, Internet, Programming Languages, Information Access, Storytelling.

I am really excited to meet other information professionals. Networking is extremely important in an age where no one can really keep up with the exponential growth of information. Social networking especially with professional colleagues keeps you updated with good practice and new developments. See you at the event!

La mia Biblioteca:
The library of which I am in-charge is a specialized library: IT. The corporation is the "IT arm for the Malta Government".
It contains around three thousand monographs and 30 professional Journals about IT and Management.
We have moved to new premises this year with more space available for reading and a sofa for discussions too.

SpringEvent...un successo!

SpringEvent e` venuto ed e` stato grande! Era una esperienza unica...sentire e conoscere altri bibliotecari sul tema dell' Information Literacy. Come ho gia detto in un'altra iscritta, lo SpringEvent e` venuto giusto in tempo tra uno dei l'ultimi publicazioni dell UNESCO sull' Information Literacy. Questo fatto contiua ha dare il necessario impeto che c'e` ne bisogno per continuare il nostro impegno per far crescere ragazzi che sono competenti non solo nella ricerca dell'informazione ma per aver…
